Prescription Take Back

Two drug take-back days a year aren’t enough to protect our communities. But together we can provide easily accessible, 
friendly, and safe places to dispose of unused and expired medications. Any time. Let’s make every day a drug take-back day.

 The Garden City Police Department, working in partnership with Inmar, has installed a drug collection box in the lobby area of the Police Department, located at 349 Stewart Avenue. The box, accessible 24 hours a day - 7 days a week, is an anonymous, no questions-asked initiative that prevents prescription drug abuse and theft by ridding homes of potentially dangerous, expired, unused, unwanted prescription drugs, and aims to protect the environment by decreasing the flushing of unwanted or expired medication. The Department is hopeful that citizens will take advantage of this convenient service which has eliminated the obstacles for community members to properly dispose of their medications. 

Items that should not be placed in the drop box include needles or sharps, liquid forms of prescription medication, or bio-hazard materials. No medications from businesses such as pharmacies or doctor’s offices will be accepted.
