Detective Division

      The primary responsibility of personnel assigned to the Detective Division is to investigate reported crimes and arrest those responsible. In addition, duties of personnel assigned to the Detective Division shall include:

• Assist the Patrol Division in the investigation and processing of reported crimes.
• Follow up on cases generated by the Patrol Division.
• Entry of data into the case module of Impact.
• Control and tracking of all evidence, contraband and found property including recording, storage and disposal as appropriate.
• Liaison with other Departments in relation to criminal activity and crime prevention.
• Updating and proper filing of field interview reports.
• Supervision of second hand dealers licenses and pistol permits.
• Anti-crime patrol.
• Perform necessary asset forfeiture duties in conjunction with the Nassau County Police Department.
• Perform other duties and tasks as directed by a superior officer.
